What are the Requirements for the Visa?

To apply for a spouse visa, you must meet the following requirements:

1. Both partners or spouses must be 18 years of age or older.
2. The applicant must be the spouse, de facto partner, or future spouse of an Australian citizen, an Australian Permanent Residency Visa holder.
3. If you are married, your marriage must be recognised as valid under Australian law and must have lasted for at least 12 months.
4. You need to present proof that your relationship is genuine and committed.
5. You must meet health and character requirements.
6. You may need to provide evidence of the genuineness of your identity and relationship during an interview. This can include:

  • Passport Bio Pages
  • Marriage certificate (if applicable)
  • Character verification
  • Police clearance certificates
